Books
Simply from being a mom who believes in the power of a good story, I have read A LOT of children's books with my son. I was a youth librarian when he was little, one of my favorite jobs to date, and that really added on to my children's book quota as well. Later on as a junior high and high school English teacher, I got to observe reading trends and see which books my students gravitated toward.
I also just love literature, which is what I chose to study in college in order to become a better writer. My personal reading preferences are a bit all over the place. (Ever since my 20s for instance, I’ve collected cookbooks like Carrie Bradshaw buys shoes.)
Here are just some of my favorites and finds.
